{"id":1960801,"date":"2024-07-23T00:05:09","date_gmt":"2024-07-23T04:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/?p=1960801"},"modified":"2025-08-17T17:18:29","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T21:18:29","slug":"connecting-to-google-meet-legacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/connecting-to-google-meet-legacy\/","title":{"rendered":"Connecting to Google Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With Events Calendar Pro, you can connect to your Google Meet account and easily add links to your Google Meet meetings to your virtual and hybrid events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-connecting-your-google-meet-account\">Connecting your Google Meet account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to&nbsp;<strong>Events \u2192 Settings \u2192 Integrations<\/strong>&nbsp;from the WordPress dashboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the Google section and click&nbsp;<strong>Sign in with Google<\/strong>.<br><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1953617\" style=\"width: 900px;\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Screen-Shot-2022-07-15-at-7.17.36-AM-1.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may see a temporary warning that &#8220;Google hasn&#8217;t verified this app&#8221;, so click <strong>Advanced<\/strong> to bypass this, if you see that option, or <strong>Go to theeventscalendar.com (unsafe)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be redirected to Google, where you can log in or create an account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure to give access to <strong>View and Edit Events<\/strong> on calendars and to <strong>See and Download<\/strong> any calendar if prompted to do so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From there, you can go back to your site and see that it says Refresh Connection, which means that you are already connected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start automatically generating new Google Meet links and adding your pre-existing Google Meet meetings!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-23-at-7.21.05-AM.png\" alt=\"Connect to Google Meet with Virtual Events\" class=\"wp-image-1953352\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/evnt.is\/1b8r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/06\/evergreen-ad-virtual-events-1024x384.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1953355\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-google-meet-meetings\">Creating Google Meet meetings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you are connected to Google Meet, you can automatically generate new meetings directly from the WordPress Dashboard. Simply head over to <strong>Add Event<\/strong>, and scroll down to <strong>Configure Virtual Event<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll now see the Google Meet option available in the <strong>Add Video<\/strong> dropdown menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-23-at-7.35.15-AM.png\" alt=\"Google Meet option available with Virtual Events\" class=\"wp-image-1953353\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you select your Google Meet account, you can click <strong>Create<\/strong> to generate a new Google Meet link to display on your WordPress site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-23-at-7.36.43-AM.png\" alt=\"Create a new Google Meet link\" class=\"wp-image-1953354\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-add-preexisting-google-meet-meetings\">Add preexisting Google Meet meetings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you connect to your Google Meet account, you can add your preexisting Google Meet links to your event pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/k\/creating-an-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">create a new event<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill in the normal event details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publish it or save it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a Google Meet in your personal calendar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the event in Google Calendar, click on the three dots to reveal the URL, and publish the event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the URL.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In order to see the full URL similar to the one in the screenshot below, you may have to click on the event after you&#8217;ve created it, and click the Pencil icon to edit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <em>Configure Virtual Event<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste the <em><strong>full Google Calendar event URL<\/strong><\/em> in the Video URL field and click on <em>Find<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Screen-Shot-2022-07-11-at-6.44.28-AM.png\" alt=\"Full Google Calendar event URL\" class=\"wp-image-1953553\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn more about creating virtual and hybrid events in <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/k\/creating-a-virtual-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this Knowledgebase article<\/a>.
