The settings offer a lot of cool options to get your calendar looking just the way you want it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s review what each of the options entails. Note that some of the settings below are specific to Events Calendar Pro and are marked as such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background\" style=\"color:#141827;background-color:var(--global-palette8)\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> As of <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/blog\/news\/introducing-new-features-for-events-calendar-pro\/\">The Events Calendar 6.2.0<\/a>, you can now attach multiple venues to an event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-calendar-footer-link\">Calendar Footer Link<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You have the option to display a small \u201cCalendar powered by The Events Calendar\u201d link in the footer of your calendar views. To enable or disable this: Go to <strong>Events \u2192 Settings \u2192 General \u2192 Viewing<\/strong>, then check or uncheck the <strong>\u201cShow The Events Calendar link\u201d<\/strong> setting. Location-based time zones automatically adjust for DST changes, while UTC-based time zones remain static and may require manual adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to <strong>Events \u2192 Settings \u2192 Display<\/strong> <strong>\u2192 Date &amp; Time<\/strong> in your wp-admin dashboard. Simply go to your <strong>wp-admin \u2192 Settings \u2192 General<\/strong>, choose your preferred starting day of the week from the <strong>Week Starts On<\/strong> selector, and save your changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"688\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/week-starts-on-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1964471\" style=\"width:1093px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/week-starts-on-1.png 688w, https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/week-starts-on-1-300x192.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 688px) 100vw, 688px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-date-format-settings\">Date Format Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Events Calendar uses WordPress settings to determine which day is the start of the week, the default timezone, and how dates and times are formatted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you can override WordPress settings and configure date and time settings directly within the plugin. This way, you can set the options for your site one way and the options for your calendar another way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to&nbsp;<strong>Events \u2192 Settings<\/strong> <strong> \u2192 Display<\/strong> <strong>\u2192 Date &amp; Time<\/strong> to configure date format settings just for the calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"588\" height=\"689\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/all-sett.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1964475\" style=\"width:1096px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/all-sett.png 588w, https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/all-sett-256x300.png 256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-enable-views-amp-set-the-calendar-default-view\">Enable views &amp; set the calendar default view<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Events Calendar supports three calendar views right out of the box:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>List View:<\/strong>&nbsp;Events are presented in a list format, like a traditional blog<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Month View:<\/strong>&nbsp;Events are showcased on a traditional calendar grid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Day View:<\/strong>&nbsp;Events for the current days are displayed in List View<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Events Calendar Pro provides additional views:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Summary View:<\/strong>&nbsp;Events displayed as a quick overview of upcoming events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Photo View:<\/strong>&nbsp;Presents events in a visually appealing photo gallery format<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Week View:<\/strong>&nbsp;Displays events across the span of a week<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Map View:<\/strong> Google Maps is integrated with the events list, updating locations in real time as users interact with events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To enable or disable these views:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to <strong>Events \u2192 Settings \u2192 Display<\/strong> <strong>\u2192<\/strong> <strong>Calendar<\/strong> in your wp-admin dashboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Calendar Display<\/strong>, locate the <strong>Enable event views<\/strong> option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tick your desired views<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save your changes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"471\" height=\"232\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Calendar-Display-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1964476\" style=\"width:776px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Calendar-Display-1.png 471w, https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Calendar-Display-1-300x148.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, the plugin settings display the List view. To change the default view that users see when they first visit the calendar, change the \u201cDefault view\u201d setting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to <strong>Events \u2192 Settings \u2192 Display<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Calendar Display Settings<\/strong>, locate the <strong>Default view<\/strong> setting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your desired default view from the dropdown menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save your changes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"233\" height=\"71\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/default-view.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1964477\" style=\"width:439px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"newevent\">Creating a new Event<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7GqaCu2UcY0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is actually really easy. Let&#8217;s start in the WordPress dashboard \u2014 you should be able to find a menu entry called Events and, if you click on it, you should see the <strong>Add New<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"528\" height=\"192\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Add-new-event.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1964478\" style=\"width:1096px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Add-new-event.png 528w, https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Add-new-event-300x109.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve found it, go ahead and click on it! This should bring you to the event editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event editor hopefully won&#8217;t contain too many surprises: it is intentionally almost identical \u2014&nbsp;at least at first glance \u2014&nbsp;to the regular page and post editor used by WordPress itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if you&#8217;re familiar with WordPress, you should feel right at home.
